Fighting Falcons sweep Soo in lone Sunday game

March 16, 2014
Soo Eagles 1 @ Port Huron Fighting Falcons 3 – The Fighting Falcons moved to within a win of clinching the North Division thanks to 3-1 win in the lone NAHL game on Sunday, which completed a weekend sweep of the Eagles.

It didn’t take long for the Fighting Falcons to grab an early lead as Bryan Yim scored just four minutes into the game with assists to Logan Lambdin and Vito Aluia. Just over six minutes later, Nick Horne made the score 2-0 on a goal with assists from Matt Jones and Lucas Little.

Late in the 2nd period, Yim pushed the lead to 3-0 with an unassisted shorthanded goal.

Soo had the only goal of the 3rd period as Trevor Boyd scored to spoil the shutout bid of Max Milosek with just 4:44 remaining in the game. Milosek ended up with 30 saves on the night, while Paige Skoog made 25 saves in the Eagles loss.
