May 1, 2014
The Minnesota Wilderness of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Tyler Cline has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the University of Alaska-Fairbanks (UAF). Alaska-Fairbanks is a member of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
For the past four seasons, Cline, 18, has played for Blaine High School in Minnesota. Cline appeared in 100 career high school games for Blaine and registered 129 career points.
Following his junior season in 2013, Cline (5’9/172) was drafted by the Wilderness in the 2013 NAHL Draft by the Wilderness in the 13th round as the #202 pick overall.
After completing his senior season with Blaine in March, Cline then joined the Wilderness for the final couple of games of the 2013-14 NAHL regular season as an affiliate player. Cline went scoreless in the final two games of the regular season for the Wilderness.
Cline is committed to Alaska-Fairbanks for the 2015-16 and will play juniors next season, as he has signed a tender to play for the Wilderness in 2014-15.
