Division leaders Minotauros, Jets win on Tuesday

Janesville 3 @ Austin 2 (SO) – The Jets won their fourth straight game thanks to a 3-2 shootout win in Austin on Tuesday. After a scoreless 1st period, the Bruins were the first to get on the board in the 2nd period as Ian Scheid scored to make it 1-0. The Jets responded with two straight goals to take a 2-1 lead as Brandon Schultz and Drew Callin scored. Zach Kennedy would answer back for the Bruins less than two minutes later to tie the game at 2-2 late in the game. In the shootout, goals by Schultz, Evan Feno and Zach Lavalle were enough for the Jets to take the win. Matt Jurusik made 27 saves in the win, while Zach Driscoll took the loss making 26 saves. Aberdeen 2 @ Minot 3 – The Minotauors increased their Central Division lead thanks to a 3-2 win over the Wings on Tuesday. Minot outshot Aberdeen 30-13, but it was the Wings who had the early advantage as a 1st period goal from Michael Soucier and a 2nd period goal from Tucker DeYoung put the Wings ahead 2-0. However, the Minotauros would respond with three unanswered goals as a power play goal from Blake Lizotte made it 2-1. An early 3rd period goal from Chase Springman made it 2-2 and a power play goal midway through the period by Jon Lizotte would be the difference maker. Tanner Holmes made 11 saves in the win, while Chad Catt made 27 saves in the loss. Boxscore

Brookings 4 @ Bismarck 3 – 39 saves from Eric Hancock and three, 3rd period goals were enough to lead the Blizzard to a 4-3 win on the road in Bismarck on Tuesday night as Brookings snapped a three-game losing skid. It was the Bobcats who jumped out to an early lead as goals from Matt Perry and Jake Tomkowiak put the Bobcats ahead 2-0. The Blizzard would respond with three straight goals from Oscar Odd, Tyler Frischmon and Colton Schmidt to go ahead 3-2 early in the 3rd period. Evan Giesler briefly tied the game midway through the 3rd period, but Brookings again had the answer as Joe Nathe scored the game-winner with 3:31 remaining. Boxscore

Amarillo 2 @ Wichita Falls 4 – Three, 3rd period goals and 30 saves from goalie Austin Shaw led the Wichita Falls Wildcats to their fourth straight win as they beat the Amarillo Bulls on Tuesday, 4-2. The win moved the Wildcats into sole possession of 2nd place in the South Division. After a scoreless 1st period, the Wildcats went ahead in the 2nd period on a goal from Tommy Apap. The Bulls responded with two quick goals in the 3rd period to lead 2-1 lead as Luke Novack and Addison Runey scored within seconds of one another to put the Bulls ahead. However, the Wildcats would respond with the final three goals as Nick Farmer would score twice and Austin Albrecht would add another in an eight-minute span. Boxscore
