Wildcats partner with Children's Miracle Network for jersey night

January 9, 2015

By Ben Horner, Wichita Falls Wildcats

The Wichita Falls Wildcats of the NAHL are proud to partner with Children’s Miracle Network at United Regional Health Care System in announcing the return of “Jersey Off Our Back” Night on Saturday, Jan. 17.

This year, the “Jersey Off Our Back” game will begin at 5 p.m., with the jersey auction to benefit Children’s Miracle Network at United Regional to take place immediately after the contest.

“Our efforts with Children’s Miracle Network at United Regional are one of the most important things we do each year,” said Wildcats co-owner Roy Davoult. “Children’s Miracle Network has had such a big impact on my life, and the lives of so many people in our community, we really take a lot of pride in supporting their efforts.”

Thanks to the partnership of Children’s Miracle Network and the United Regional Foundation, and the support of the Texoma community, “Jersey Off Our Back” Night has become one of the signature events of every Wildcats season. Last year, the Wildcats raised over $30,556 in support of Children’s Miracle Network through the jersey auction, an increase of over $3,000 from the 2013 edition of the event. Since 2003, the Wildcats and their predecessors, the Wichita Falls Rustlers, have raised over $500,000 for Children’s Miracle Network at United Regional through “Jersey Off Our Back” Night.

“We cannot thank the Wildcats enough for their support of Children’s Miracle Network,” said Amber Gee, Children’s Miracle Network Specialist at United Regional. “”Jersey Off Our Back’ Night is a fun event for all involved and the Wildcats are a great group of young men, so it is always a pleasure to work with the players, coaches and entire staff.”

Founded in 1983, Children’s Miracle Network has raised more than $5 billion for 170 children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada. United Regional Health Care System has been a Children’s Miracle Network hospital since 1988. Through the work of Children’s Miracle Network, children in need of special care are able to receive life-saving treatment without having to endure long travel. Last year, almost 17,000 area children received treatment at United Regional Health Care System thanks to Children’s Miracle Network.
