Jacklopes ride Creel to another win

Corpus Christi 1 @ Odessa 3 – Tanner Creel made 38 saves to lead the Jackalopes to a 3-1 home win over the visiting IceRays. After a scoreless 1st period, Corey Hoffman would put the Jackalopes ahead 1-0 with a goal late in the 2nd period. Just :29 seconds into the 3rd period the IceRays would tie the game on their lone goal from Wes Michaud. Hoffman would answer right back with his second goal of the game just :28 seconds later to make it 2-1 and a goal later in the period from Razmuz Waxin-Engback made the final 3-1. Andrew Lindgren made 40 saves in the loss. Boxscore

MN Wilderness 3 @ MN Magicians 2 – The Wilderness moved back into a 1st place tie in the Midwest Division with a come-from-behind 3-2 win over the Magicians. Things looked good for the Magicians early as two 1st period goals from Sam Becker and Lukas Laub put the Magicians up 2-0. The Wilderness fought back with a goal late in the 1st period from Aaron Miller to make it 2-1. Darian Romanko scored in the 2nd period to tie the game at 2-2 and the game-winner came off the stick of Wayland Williams midway through the 3rd period. Ryan Anderson made 18 saves in the win, while Vaughan Ahrens made 41 saves in the loss. Boxscore

Minot 3 @ Brookings 0 – In his first NAHL start, goalie Jon Flakne stopped all 19 shots that came his way for his first shutout as Minot picked up a big 3-0 road win in Brookings. Minot got off to a strong start thanks to 1st period goals from Johnny Walker and John Snodgrass to take a 2-0 lead.  Snodgrass added his second goal of the game late in the 2nd period to complete all the scoring in the game. Brookings goalie Ryan Kubic made 21 saves in the loss. Boxscore

Wichita Falls 4 @ Rio Grande Valley 0 – In a continuation of a postponed game from December, Wichita Falls got 20 saves from Austin Shaw in a 4-0 shutout of the Killer Bees. Prior to the postponement of the game back in December, Austin Albrecht and Tommy Apap had scored to make it 2-0.  Upon the restart, Nikita Litviak added a goal late in the 2nd period to make it 3-0 and Austin Beaulieu scored in the 3rd period to make the final 4-0. Nick Schmit made 19 saves in the loss for the Killer Bees. Boxscore

Wichita Falls 2 @ Rio Grande Valley 3 (OT) – In the regularly scheduled game, the Killer Bees took advantage of good special teams play and goaltending by Ben Johansson to edge the Wichita Falls Wildcats, 3-2 in overtime. The Killer Bees jumped up 2-0 with a 1st period power play goal from Gavin Cummings and a 2nd period shorthanded goal from Stathis Soumelidis. The Wildcats fought back to tie the game at 2-2 with a goal later in the 2nd period from Tommy Apap and a late 3rd period power play goal from Jake Townsend. Rio Grande Valley won the game halfway through overtime on a goal from Kevin Clare. Johansson made 26 saves in the win, while Austin Shaw made 21 saves in the loss. Boxscore
