Janesville forward Kucerovy makes NCAA DI commitment

June 3, 2015
The Janesville Jets of the NAHL are proud to announce the signing of Daniel Kucerovy to play NCAA Division I hockey at Bentley University (Atlantic Hockey) for the upcoming 2015-16 season.

Kucerovy, who hails from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, spent parts of three seasons with the Jets to end his junior career finishing the current season with 32 points for the Jets (14 G, 18 A) good enough to land him 6th amongst Jet players.

He also played on the North Division team at the 2015 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament.

This signing comes after a long junior hockey career that spanned four seasons that included a stint in Rio Grande Valley. With the commitment under his belt Kucerovy has a weight off his shoulders.

“I feel relieved. After four years of junior hockey it was pretty stressful. Being on a winning team like we had this year made it a lot easier. It’s just a relief.”

The Jets players will pair up as they depart Janesville with Evan Feno and Zach Yoder both signing to play at Air Force, and Zach LaValle and Grant Hutton signing to play at Miami. Kucerovy will join Jets Captain Drew Callin at Bentley University and needless to say he is ready for four more years together.

“I’m super excited about it! Two years ago he was my rookie and this year we were line mates so I’m just really excited to spend four more years with him.”

Coach Joe Dibble, who coached Kucerovy in all three seasons he was with the Jets, has been able to see him grow over the years. “He has grown into a complete hockey player,” Dibble said. “Offensively he is gifted but now he is a complete 200 foot player. He’s going to work just as hard away from the puck as he is with the puck.

Kucerovy will be joining the Bentley University Falcons after they finished the 2014-15 season with a 17-15-5 record where he will bring both knowledge and worth ethic to the line-up. “He will bring consistency” said Dibble. “He’s a kid with a heavy shot and a great worth ethic that can score goals from anywhere in the zone.”

Kucerovy is ready for the challenge of starting his career with the knowledge he learned over his junior career. “Never give up and push to the end. Good things happen to those who work hard.”
