Motor City's Torf readies for Air Force

June 9, 2010

Air Force-bound Jason Torf is the third player from Motor City's 2009-10 team to commit to a Division I school.

The Motor City Metal Jackets have announced that goaltender Jason Torf has committed to the Air Force Academy (Atlantic Hockey) for the 2010-11 season.

This past year, Torf, a 19-year-old from Hermosa Beach, Calif., posted a 9-10-2 record in 24 regular-season appearances to compliment a 2.85 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage.

“We’re extremely proud of Jason’s intent to attend Air Force,” said Metal Jackets head coach David Cole.  “He’s worked extremely hard and was a key addition to our organization.”

The third player from the Metal Jackets’ 2009-10 team to decide on a Division I school, Torf is the 14th player to compete in the NAHL this past season to hold a commitment to Air Force.

“We believe Jason is going to a great program with a wonderful coach (Frank Serratore) and staff,” Cole added.
