RoadRunners complete three-game sweep of Odessa

Odessa 3 @ Topeka 6 – Thanks to a three-goal 3rd period and three points on the night from Andrew Hart, the Topeka RoadRunners completed a weekend three-game home sweep of Odessa with a 6-3 win on Sunday night in the lone game in the NAHL.
Hart scored the first goal of the game just over a minute into the 1st period as he tipped home a shot by Seth Kamrass. Odessa came back in the 2nd period with all three goal their goals to tie the game at 3-3 in a wild 2nd period. Daniel Kiraly made it 1-1 early in the frame with a power play goal. That was answered later in the period from Topeka’s Tyler Hayes to make it 2-1. Just over two minutes later another power play netted Odessa another goal, this time from Hampus Sjodahl on a rebound to make it 2-2. Quinn Preston have Topeka the lead back just over a minute later, with a breakaway goal, but then with :28 seconds remaining in the period, a goal from Jacks defenseman Cooper Zech tied the game at 3-3 heading into the 3rd period.
The 3rd period was all ‘Runners as Cam Strong’s goal at 8:31 gave them the lead for good. Yu Hikosaka and Hart added goals later in the period to complete the 6-3 win and three-game sweep.
Topeka goalie Tyler Johnson made 24 saves in the win, while Odessa goalie Dean Shatzer made 33 saves in the loss.
