Minot reclaims 1st place with shutout over Bismarck

Austin 2 @ MN Magicians 4 – Will Ulrich made 29 saves to lead the Minnesota Magicians to a 4-2 home win on Thursday night at home over the Bruins. The win moved the Magicians back into a tie for the 4th and final playoff spot in the Central Division. The Magicians jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on a goal from John Peterson. Austin quickly answered back on a power play goal from Jacob Paganelli, but before the period was done, the Magicians regained their one goal advtange on a power play goal from Hugo Gallet. The power play netted the Magicians their 3rd goal, which came in the 2nd period from Tanner Tweeten. Jack Christensen had the other Magicians goal in the 3rd period, while Evan Cholak had the other Austin goal. Austin goalie Kris Carlson made 24 saves in the loss. Boxscore
 
Bismarck 0 @ Minot 4 – The Minotauros regained sole possession of 1st place in the Central with a 4-0 shutout of Bismarck as Gunner Rivers stopped all 30 shots that came his way for his 3rd shutout of the season and 5th straight win. Minot got on the board early in the 1st period with the eventual game-winning goal from Tyler Jeanson. After a scorless 2nd period, Minot added three more goals in the 3rd period to put the game away as Max Reisinger scored twice and Chase Springman added a power play goal. Bismarck goalie Hunter Shepard took the loss, making 26 saves. Boxscore
 
Springfield 2 @ Janesville 3 – Jack LaFontaine made 26 saves to lead the Jets to a 3-2 home win over the Jr. Blues. The Jr. Blues struck first just over three minutes into the 1st period as Anthony Scarsella lit the lamp to make it 1-0. Later in the period, the Jets would tie things up as Taylor Fernandez scored his 20th goal of the season to make it 1-1. Janesville took control of the game in the 2nd period with a pair of goals from Lordanthony Grissom and Cole Paskus to take a 3-1 lead. Brennan Blaszczak scored a late 3rd period goal for the Jr. Blues, but it would not be enough. Springfield goalie Niko Della Maggorie made 31 saves in the loss. Boxscore

MN Wilderness 3 @ Coulee Region 6 – Joey Sofo and Nico Luka each had four-point nights as the Chill continued their march towards a playoff spot with a 6-3 home win over the Wilderness. The Chill took a 1-0 lead with a 1st period goal from Alex Falconer. They scored twice more in the 2nd period with goals from Sofo and Dominik Florian and then added three more goals in the 3rd period as Florian scored again, along with goals from Phil Erickson and Larry Jungwirth. The Wilderness got two goals in the 2nd period from Ryan Bloom and Brett Heikkila and had the game tied at 2-2 at one point. Casey Gilling added a 3rd period goal. Hunter Vorva made 36 saves in the win, while Luke Kania made 23 saves in the loss. Boxscore
