Regular season comes to an end with Chill shootout win

Coulee Region 3 @ MN Wilderness 2 (SO) – The Chill put a nice cap on the end of their regular season as they defeated the Minnesota Wilderness in the 660th and final regular season game of the 2015-16 NAHL season. The Chill finished as the #4 seed for the upcoming playoffs beginning next weekend and will face the #1 seed Fairbanks Ice Dogs, while the Wilderness finished as the #3 seed and will take on the #2 Janesville Jets in the opening round of the playoffs.
 
After a scoreless 1st period, it was all Chill in the 2nd period as Caleb Schroer scored with assists from Phil Erickson and Chad Sasaki to make it 1-0 and later in the period, it was Justin Kendall scoring with an assist from Niko Luka.
 
The Wilderness stormed back in the 3rd period with two goals in just over a minute from one another as Kyle Patava scored with assists from Connor Bucsis and Ashton Calder to cut the lead to 2-1 and then Calder tied the game 1:13 later with assists to Brett Heikkila and Ryan Bloom to make the score 2-2.
 
After a scoreless overtime, the Chill took the extra point in the shootout thanks to a goal from Luka, who was the only shooter of the combined six to score. 
 
Chill goalie Hunter Vorva shined in the win, making 40 saves, while Chase Munroe made 26 saves in the shootout loss.
