NAHL Announces Partnership with Trainerize

September 2, 2016
The North American Hockey League (NAHL) today announces its partnership with Trainerize as the Official Personal Training Software Provider for the NAHL, North American Prospects Hockey League and North American 3 Hockey League. Trainerize, a leader in personal training software, provides coaches and athletes with an all-encompassing mobile training solution that includes convenient access to workouts and meal plans, progress tracking and a messaging feature for a highly visual and interactive digital training experience.

Through its customizable web platform and mobile app, Trainerize empowers coaches to be closer to athletes anytime, anywhere. As a result of the partnership, teams like the NAHL’s Johnstown Tomahawks have already started utilizing Trainerize with its players to create, track and improve workouts while simultaneously monitoring players’ overall progress and health. The personal training platform is also integrated with FitBit and MyFitnessPal, allowing coaches full visibility of their players’ fitness and nutrition tracking in one platform for the first time.

“This is an exciting partnership for our three leagues because training, development and nutrition for all of our hockey players is a top priority,” said Alex Kyrias, Director of Communications and Sales for the NAHL. “The relationship with Trainerize will now allow our teams to keep track of their progress with the latest and most effective technology.”

More than 35,000 personal trainers and fitness studios use Trainerize to build online training plans, send homework and deliver meal plans to clients. Trainers can easily access client profiles, consultation forms and notes specific to each client, resulting in improved client retention. The platform also includes a mobile app where clients can view meal plans, log workouts and track progress by uploading photos and body statistics.

“Using Trainerize with our players has already taken the team to the next level, and this past season we had a team record of 18 players make NCAA commitments,” said Mike Letizia, Tomahawks head coach. “Our team training has never been better since we started to use Trainerize and the players love how quickly and easily they can access their workouts through the software and mobile apps. For us as coaches, it also allows us to hold players accountable to keeping up with their fitness, while providing a guideline in which we can show their progress to collegiate and professional programs that ask about a player's off-ice habits.”

“We are excited to continue our work with the NAHL to showcase the power of our personal training platform and how it can transform players’ routines,” said Sharad Mohan, CEO of Trainerize. “Accountability, progress and convenience are so crucial for athletes’ busy schedules, and we are looking forward to continuing to build this network and bring these players into the quickly growing digital world of fitness.”
