October 4, 2016

Knights defenseman Joseph Campolieto, who was named to the NHL Central Scouting Players to Watch List earlier in the day, had two assists in the 5-2 win on Tuesday.

Aston 2 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 5 – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights scored five unanswered goals and erased an early Rebels lead to come away with a 5-2 win on Tuesday afternoon at home.

The Rebels jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the 1st period thanks to a pair of goals from defenseman Gvido Jansons. However, the Knights would slowly chip away at the lead, which included a goal later in the 1st period to get things going for the Knights from Michael Morrisey.

After a scoreless 2nd period, the Knights exploded for four goals in the final five minutes of the game. Sam Antonitsch scored with 4:40 remaining in the 3rd period to knot the game at 2-2.  Less than a minute later, it was Vince Marino on the tail end of a nice passing play to pot the go ahead and eventual game-winning goal with under four minutes remaining in regulation.  Curtis Carlson and Dorian Dawson added late empty-net goals to secure the win.
