Magicians, Wildcats, Bruins and Wings win on Wednesday

Jake Kucharski made 42 saves to help the Austin Bruins snap the Janesville Jets winning streak with a 3-2 shootout win on Wednesday.

MN Magicians 6 @ MN Wilderness 2 – Six different players scored for the Magicians as they picked up a 6-2 road win in Cloquet against the Wilderness. Timo Walther, Tyler Bump and Davis Kirkendall all had three point nights. After opening goal early in the 1st period from Wilderness forward Tim Nicksic, it was all Magicians, which included 1st period goals from Bump and Cameron Buhl, a 2nd period goal from Mitchel Statteru and three goals in the 3rd period from Walther, Kirkendall and Brendan Skarda. Zach Mills scored the other goal for the Wilderness. Ivan Prosvetov made 34 saves in the win, while Luke Kania made 35 saves in the loss. Boxscore

Austin 3 @ Janesville 2 (SO) – Jake Kucharski made 42 saves as the Bruins snapped the Jets seven-game winning streak with a 3-2 shootout win in Janesville. After a scoreless 1st period, each team scored once in the 2nd period, with Justin Misiak scoring for the Bruins and Cole Paskus answering for the Jets. In the 3rd period, the Jets took a 2-1 lead on a goal from Alec Semandel only to see that answered by Austin’s Jason Koehn scoring his first goal of the season. Jan Stefka had the shootout winner for the Bruins. Jets goalie Derek Schaedig made 40 saves in the shootout loss. Boxscore

Aberdeen 3 @ Bismarck 2 – The Wings scored twice in the 3rd period, including the game-winner with 2.1 seconds remaining in regulation as they picked up a big 3-2 road win in Bismarck. After a scoreless 1st period, the Bobcats took a 2-1 lead in the 2nd period with goals from Jared Resseguie and Joseph Sardina. Andy Carroll had the lone goal for the Wings in the middle frame. In the 3rd period, Shawn Knowlton tied the game at the 7:26 mark. Late in the game, the Wings won a faceoff in the Bobcats end. An initial shot by Carson Dimoff was saved, but Tyler Bossert hammered home the rebound with just seconds remaining for the game-winner. Forbes Ploszaj made 34 saves in the win in his Wings debut, while Will Ulrich made 27 saves in the loss. Boxscore

Wichita Falls 5 @ Lone Star 4 – Blake Ripley had a hat-trick and CJ Walker added four points as the Wildcats picked up a big 5-4 road win at Lone Star on Wednesday. The Wildcats erased three one-goal Brahmas leads and finally took a lead early in the 3rd period. The Wildcats goal 1st period goals from Jonathan Bendorf and Walker, a 2nd period goal from Ripley and two more goals in the 3rd period from Ripley. The Brahmas got two goals from Pete Kessel and others from Hunter Stanley and Jakub Melisko. Austin Smith made 38 saves in the win, while Erik Gordon made 21 saves in the loss. Boxscore
