Springfield defenseman Muzzillo makes NCAA DI commitment

The Springfield Jr. Blues, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are proud to announce that defenseman and assistant captain Jordan Muzzillo has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the University of Alaska-Fairbanks in the WCHA.
Muzzillo, 20, has stepped up his production for Springfield in his second season and is tied for the team lead with 17 points (5 goals, 12 assists) in 22 games played this season. In 76 career NAHL games, the Capron, Illinois native has 12 goals and 26 assists for 38 points.
Muzzillo (6’1/185) is now the fourth player on the Springfield Jr. Blues this season to make an NCAA Division I commitment. He joins defenseman Fletcher Fineman (Union College) and forwards Aiden Beck (Canisius) and Bradley Marek (Michigan State).

Muzzillo was selected to and played in the 2017 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for the Midwest Division team.
The University of Alaska-Fairbanks Nanooks currently compete in NCAA Division I and are apart of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. The Nanooks have some notable alumni make it to the NHL, including current St. Louis Blues defenseman Colton Parayko. Former Springfield Jr. Blues players Niko Della Maggiore and Brennan Blaszczak are currently playing for Alaska-Fairbanks.
