Brookings 1 @ Janesville 2 – Daniel Lebedeff made 26 saves and Kip Hoffman continued his hot play as the Jets completed a weekend home sweep of the Blizzard thanks to a 2-1 win on Saturday. The Jets opened the scoring early in the 1st period with Hoffman’s 10th goal of the season and 3rd goal of the weekend. Less than three minutes later, the Blizzard tied the game at 1-1 thanks to Vince Marino’s 9th goal of the year. After a scoreless 2nd period, the Jets got the eventual game-winner midway through the 3rd period off the stick of Jordan Steinmetz. Blizzard goalie Ben Beck made 33 saves in the loss.
Austin 8 @ Bismarck 6 – A four-goal 3rd period propelled the Austin Bruins to a come-from-behind 8-6 win in Bismarck on Saturday, which completed a weekend road sweep for Austin. Bismarck led 4-2 after one period, which included two Bobcats goals from Ty Enns and others from Jared Resseguie and Jacob Marti, while the Bruins kept par with goals from Jaden Shields and Andy Willis. The Bruins scored the only goals of the 2nd period as they tied the game at 4-4 with tallies from Dante Sheriff and Dan Petrick. In the 3rd period, the Bobcats regained the lead as Enns completed a hat-trick, but then the Bruins erupted for four power play goals in a span of just over two minutes, which included a pair of goals from Evan Cholak, another goal from Shields and one from Travis Kothenbeutel. Lukas Milen added a late Bobcats goal to complete the scoring. Alex Schilling was credited with the win, while Johnny Roberts took the loss.
Coulee Region 3 @ MN Magicians 6 – The Magicians got a three-point night from Calvin Dybicz as they completed a series sweep of the Chill thanks to a 6-3 win on Saturday. The Magicians jumped out to a 3-0 lead with goals fro Carter Breitenfeldt, John Keranen and Bram Scheerer. The teams would then trade goals the rest of the way as Jarrett Lee, Caydon Meyer and Dybicz would score three more goals for the Magicians, while the Chill goals came from Tomas Vochozka, Sam Dabrowski and Connor Zilisch. Magicians goalie Isaiah Saville made 33 saves in the win, while Chill goalie Josh Graziano made 34 saves in the loss.
Odessa 3 @ Lone Star 4 (OT) – The Jackalopes clawed back from a 3-0 deficit, but the Brahmas got some overtime magic to salvage a weekend home split against Odessa thanks to a 4-3 overtime win on Saturday. The Brahmas got off to a great start and jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the 1st period with goals from Drew Lennon, Ture Linden and Kimball Johnson. The Jackalopes mounted a comeback with a 2nd period goal from Peyton Frantti and two goals in the 3rd period from Petr Miko and Blake Bride. In the overtime, Linden scored his second goal of the game with 1:19 remaining in the extra session to give the Brahmas the extra point. Mitchell Gibson made 31 saves in the win, while Brett Epp made 21 saves in the loss.
Aberdeen 2 @ Minot 3 – The Minotauros earned a weekend home split against the Wings thanks to a 3-2 win on Saturday behind 32 saves from goalie Samu Lonkila. After a scoreless 1st period, the Minotauros went ahead 2-0 with 2nd period goals from Ondrej Pavel and Miroslav Mucha. The Wings would answer back with two goals later in the period from Joe Strada and Zach Noble to tie the game at 2-2. The game-winner came midway through the 3rd period as Michael Talbot scored the deciding goal. Matt Vernon made 28 saves in the Wings loss.
Kenai River 3 @ Fairbanks 2 (OT) – Gavin Enright made 31 saves to help the Brown Bears get their first win of a three-game series in Fairbanks against the Ice Dogs thanks to a 3-2 overtime win on Saturday. The Brown Bears took a 1-0 lead early in the 1st period with a goal from Luke Radetic, which was his 16th of the season. Hunter Wendt would tie the game for the Ice Dogs later in the period. In the 2nd period, the Ice Dogs snagged their first lead of the game as Daniel Haider scored his 7th goal of the season. Late in the 3rd period, the Brown Bears found the equalizer as Sacha Guillemain scored on the penalty shot to tie the game at 2-2. It took just over a minute into the overtime for Kenai River to net the win as Michael Spethmann scored his 8th goal of the season. Josh Benson took the loss in goal for the Ice Dogs, making 20 saves.
MN Wilderness 2 @ Springfield 5 – Jeff Skinner scored two goals to lead the Jr. Blues to a 5-2 win over the Wilderness, salvaging a weekend split. The game was tied at 2-2 after one period as Skinner and Aiden Beck scored for the Jr. Blues, while Kosta Likourezos and Isaac Moberg answered back for the Wilderness. Springfield gained control in the 2nd period as goals from Bradley Marek and Nikita Kozyrev pushed the lead to 4-2. Another goal from Skinner in the 3rd period secured the 5-2 win. Evan Fear was credited with the win, making 27 saves, while Ryan Fanti took the loss making 21 saves.
Philadelphia 7 @ Northeast 2 – Seven different players scored as the Rebels took over the East Division lead thanks to their second win of the weekend over the Generals with a 7-2 win on Saturday. A four-goal 2nd period propelled the Rebels, who got a 1st period goal from Adam Peck, 2nd period goals from Alex Frye, Dusan Kmec, Eric Olson, and Aaron Maguyon and 3rd period goals from Kolby Vegara and Jensen Zerban. The Generals goals came from Justin Jallen and Brady Gaudette. Eli Billing made 24 saves in the win, while David Fessenden made 29 saves in the loss.
New Jersey 3 @ Johnstown 4 – Johnstown jumped out to a 3-0 lead and held on to defeat the Titans, 4-3. After a scoreless 1st period, the Tomahawks scored three times in the 2nd period, which included goals from Reagan Wortz, Christian Gorscak and Andy Nedeljkovic. The Titans stormed back with three goals in the 3rd period from Gavin Gulash, Nick Boyagian and Kyle Jeffers, but a late power play goal from Johnstown’s Donovan Ott would stand as the difference. Kade Phipps would pick up the win, making 29 saves, while Joe Halstrom made 22 saves in the loss.
Topeka 4 @ Amarillo 3 (OT) – The RoadRunners came from behind to tie the game late and then win in overtime to defeat the Bulls, 4-3. Each time the Bulls scored, the RoadRunners had an answer. Bulls goals came from Gleb Murtazin, Alex Peterson and Jon Russell. The RoadRunners got two goals from Will Schlagenhauf and then the game-tying goal with :03 seconds left in regulation from Sam Martel. In the overtime, Matt Barnes netted the game-winner just over a minute into the extra frame. RoadRunners goalie Sam Metcalf made 27 saves in the win, while Bulls goalie Jason Grande made 25 saves in the OT loss.
Shreveport 2 @ Corpus Christi 3 (SO) – Chad Veltri made 43 saves and stopped all three Mudbugs shooters in the shootout to lead the IceRays to a 3-2 shootout win at home over the division-leading Mudbugs. The IceRays took a 1-0 lead in the 1st period as Larry Jungwirth scored his 16th goal of the year. The Mudbugs tied the game at 1-1 with a 2nd period goal from Cole Quisenberry. In the 3rd period, the IceRays regained the lead with a goal from defenseman Blake Coffey. However, with under a minute remaining in regulation, the Mudbugs tied the game at 2-2 with a power play goal from Brendan Gysbers. Aleksi Peltonen had the only goal in the shootout. Mudbugs goalie James Durham mas 32 saves in the shootout loss.
