Northeast Generals 5 @ Johnstown Tomahawks 3 – A furious 3rd period comeback gave the Northeast Generals a 5-3 win over the Johnstown Tomahawks in Sunday’s rubber match of a three-game series as the Generals walked away with two wins on the weekend.

The Generals netted a goal with less than 5 minutes to play, then got the game-winner from Brady Gaudette with 52.2 seconds remaining in the 3rd period. Gaudette’s goal, on assists from Mike Egan and Matt Wiesner, came at 19:07. After Gaudette’s goal and with the goalie pulled, Johnstown tried to tie the game, but gave up an empty-netter with 1.7 seconds left to set the final. The goal was scored by Colin Bilek and assisted by Boudon and Rutigilano.

The Tomahawks, who had the chance to improve their last-place standing in the East Division with six points on the line over the weekend, opened the scoring just 1:16 into the first period as Roman Kraemer netted his 12th goal of the season. The assist went to Samuel Solensky. The Generals tied the game at 12:59 when Louis Boudon beat goaltender Jack Leavy to put Northeast on the board. The assist went to Alex Cohen.

In the second period, the teams exchanged goals as they had in the first period. Northeast took the lead, 2-1, when Matthew Rutigliano scored his third goal of the season. The assist went to Colin Bilek at 9:12. Johnstown tied the game back up at 18:39 with a goal from Samuel Solensky, his 10th of the season. The assists went to Reagan Wortz and Andy Nedeljkovic.

In the third period, Johnstown regained the lead with a goal from Joe Kile at 6:01. The assist went to Ben Schmidling. Northeast tied the game at 3 at 15:54, as Sviatoslov Kuchynski scored his fifth of the season assisted by Ryan Rowland.
