Corpus Christi defenseman Kramer makes NCAA DI commitment

October 15, 2018
The Corpus Christi IceRays, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that defenseman Brian Kramer has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the Robert Morris Colonials in Atlantic Hockey.

The 18-year-old defenseman earned a scholarship and is expected to begin his collegiate career in the 2020-21 season.

“Brian has been outstanding for us this season and this is a very well-deserved accomplishment,” said IceRays head coach Ryan Cruthers. “RMU is a great fit for him both athletically and academically and I am excited to see him play at my alma mater.”

Kramer, a 5-10, 179-pound blueliner, is in his first NAHL season, and has recorded four points (1-3–4) in 10 games. The Wexford, Pennsylvania., native is the fifth current IceRay to earn a Division I commitment. He is a product of the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite youth hockey program and was tendered by the IceRays last season.
