Saturday Scores: Wings widen Central lead with 9th straight win

Harrison Feeney stopped 62 of 64 shots to help the Lone Star Brahmas to a weekend road sweep in Odessa, which included a 30-save shutout on Saturday.

Brookings 0 @ Aberdeen 6 - The Aberdeen Wings completed the sweep of the Brookings Blizzard as Connor Beatty, Brad Belisle, Shawn Kennedy and Joe Strada all had a goal and an assist in the big win. Riley Murphy and Nic Sicoly also lit the lamp for the Wings. Connor Close slammed the door on the Brookings offense as he denied all 29 shots fired in his direction. George McBey made 37 saves for the Brookings Blizzard.
 
Lone Star 1 @ Odessa 0 - Harrison Feeney earned his fourth shutout of the season as he stopped all 30 shots throw his way as the Lone Star Brahmas outlasted the Odessa Jackalopes 1-0. The only goal of the game came off the stick of Andrew DeCarlo as he scored his fifth of the season. Eric Huss and Thomas Daskas also earned a point in the win. Kade Phipps was nearly perfect for Odessa as he stopped 32 shots sent in his direction.
 
MN Wilderness 6 @ Austin 2 - Three points from Ondrej Trejbal helped the Minnesota Wilderness complete the sweep of the Austin Bruins as the Wilderness took a 6-2 decision. Dylan Johnson had two goals while Aaron Myers had a goal and an assist. Nate Horn and Jack Suchy also scored in the victory for Minnesota. Ryan Fanti made 37 saves to earn his 12th win of the year. Andrew Willis scored both goals for Austin as Brett Miller and Kyle McClellan combined to make 26 saves.
 
Kenai River 2 @ Janesville 3 - Sam Metcalf made 33 saves and the Janesville Jets secured a weekend split with the Kenai River Brown Bears. Jack Vincent, Brenden MacLaren and Austin Koss all found the back of the net for the Jets. Sebastian Frantz and Alex Klekotka netted goals for the Brown Bears while Gavin Enright stopped 20 of 23 shots.
 
Fairbanks 1 @ Chippewa 4 - Jacob Dirks grabbed a goal and an assist as the Chippewa Steel took down the Fairbanks Ice Dogs 4-1. Connor Szmul, Grisha Gotovets, and Austin Mikesch lit the lamp for Chippewa as well. Igor Samokhvalov got his first North American Hockey League win as he made 31 saves. Nate Reid stopped 16 shots for Fairbanks as Parker Brown scored the only goal for the Fairbanks Ice Dogs. 
 
Corpus Christi 0 @ Shreveport 1 - The Corpus Christi IceRays win streak came to an end on Saturday night as the Shreveport Mudbugs won a tight hockey game at George’s Pond, 1-0. Gueorgui Feduolov netted the only goal of the game, his fifth of the season. Tim Khokhlachev and Jacob Skolnik registered the assists on the game-winning goal. Leo Chuard nabbed his first shutout of 2018-19. Sam Best was impressive in a losing effort as he made 44 saves.
 
Bismarck 2 @ Minot 4 - The Minot Minotauros took care of business on home ice as they doubled up the Bismarck Bobcats 4-2. Wilmer Skoog tallied two goals while Andrew Kangas and Taylor Lantz each had a goal and an assist. Ben Garrity grabbed the win in goal as he made 34 saves for the Minotauros. Hunter Johannes and Andy Stoneman potted goals for the Bismarck Bobcats while John Roberts stopped 39 shots for the Bobcats.
