Saturday Scores: Wings set franchise mark with 12th straight win

Amarillo Bulls defenseman Jake Willets helped his team to an 8-2 win on Saturday, extending the Bulls point streak to 19 straight games.

Aberdeen 6 @ Bismarck 2 - The Aberdeen Wings won a franchise record 12th straight game as they dominated the Bismarck Bobcats 6-2. Riley Murphy had two goals and an assist and Max Salpeter added three helpers to lead the Wings. Stepan Pokorny netted two goals of his own while Connor Beatty tallied a goal and an assist. Thomas Rocco lit the lamp as well for Aberdeen. Matt Vernon won his 21st game of the season as he made 26 saves. Austin Jouppi and George Grannis had the only goals for the Bobcats. John Roberts took the loss as he made 21 stops. 
 
Corpus Christi 2 @ Amarillo 8 - The Amarillo Bulls extended their point streak to 19 games as they routed the Corpus Christi IceRays 8-2. Logan Jenuwine continued his amazing season with another four point effort, two goals and two assists, while Jake Willets also found the back of the net twice. Brendan Datema, Gabriel Seger, Brett Abdelnour and Matt Allen all had a goal and an assist in the win. Justin Evenson had plenty of goal support was still able to make 34 saves for the Bulls. Nicholas Seitz and Matt Minerva each scored for the IceRays. John Begley and Sam Best combined for 26 saves.
 
Minot 3 @ MN Wilderness 5 - A sweep from the Minnesota Wilderness propelled them into third place in the Central Division as they jumped the Minot Minotauros and the Bismarck Bobcats after defeating Minot 5-3 on Saturday night. Dylan Johnson netted a pair of goals and an assist, while Jack Johnson had three helpers. Oula Kuure had a goal and an assist. Nate Horn and Jack Suchy also lit the lamp for Minnesota. Ryan Fanti got his second win of the weekend, he made 22 saves. Keenun Lund led Minot with a goal and an assist. Justin Kelley and Taylor Lantz scored in the loss as well. Nicholas Grabko made 22 saves.
 
MN Magicians 1 @ Springfield 2 (OT) - Nikita Kozyrev’s third goal of the season gave the Springfield Jr. Blues a 2-1 overtime win over the Minnesota Magicians. Kozyrev assisted on the game tying goal scored by Max Osborne early in the third period. Janis Voris earned the victory in the crease in his first game as a Jr. Blue. Andrew Kruse had the only goal for Minnesota and Ethan Haider made 33 saves in the loss. 
 
Jamestown 2 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 4 - Jacob Badal’s two goals led the Knights offense and led them to a 4-2 victory over the Jamestown Rebels. Anthony Mastromonica and Sacha Guillemain also found the back of the net for the Knights. Zach Stejskal picked up the win in goal as he made 20 stops for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Jake Felker and Niki Jasko had the goals for Jamestown while Ryan Keane made 22 saves in the loss.
 
Northeast 1 @ Maryland 2 - The Maryland Black Bears earned a series split at home as they received goals from Connor Pooley and Nick Grimaldi. David Tomeo was outstanding in between the pipes as he turned aside 37 Generals shots. Brady Gaudette tallied the only goal for Northeast and Marko Sturma took the loss, making 17 saves.
 
Fairbanks 3 @ Janesville 4 (OT) - Brendan MacLaren’s second goal of the game came in overtime and lifted the Janesville Jets to a come-from-behind win over the Fairbanks Ice Dogs. Trailing 3-1, MacLaren’s first goal of the contest got the Jets within one heading to the final frame. Then with 3:43 remaining, Carter Hottmann scored the game tying goal to force overtime. Tommy Middleton also scored for the Jets in the contest. Jax Murray, Grant Ledford and Jack Johnston potted goals for the Ice Dogs. Cole Brady grabbed the win as he made 34 saves. Mattias Sholl was dealt the loss, making 29 saves. 
 
Brookings 2 @ Austin 0 - George McBey was lights out on Saturday night as the Brookings goaltender stopped all 38 Austin shots en route to a 2-0 win for the Blizzard. Brendan Aird’s second of the season proved to be the game-winner and halted the Blizzard’s long losing skid. Nicklas Andrews buried an empty netter to seal the win for Brookings. Kyle McClellan allowed just one goal in the loss, as he made 13 saves.
