Friday Finals: Jenuwine scores five in Bulls win

Trey LaBarge scored twice to help Kenai River snap a losing streak with a 3-2 shootout win at home over Topeka.

Amarillo 9 @ Odessa 2 - Logan Jenuwine had a night to remember as he lit the lamp five times in Amarillo’s 9-2 victory over the Odessa Jackalopes. Brenden Datema scored a goal and added two assists. Jason Brancheau potted a goal and an assist. Brett Abdelnour also finished the night with a goal and a helper. Nick Trela also scored for the Bulls. Jason Grande had plenty of run support but still made 21 saves to grab the victory. James Crossman and Jan Blasko netted goals for the Jackalopes while Kade Phipps and Alex Camarre combined for 21 saves.
 
Corpus Christi 5 @ Fairbanks 2 - Samuel Vyletelka was put to the test in his first start for the IceRays but he was up to the task as he made 42 saves in his Corpus Christi debut and led them to a 5-2 win. Santeri Hartikainen potted a pair of goals while Tyler Love, Blake Bennett and Che Landikusic tallied goals in the win. Tanner Edwards and Jonathan Sorenson provided the offense for Fairbanks while Nate Reid made 19 saves for the home team. 
 
Topeka 2 @ Kenai River 3 (SO) - The Kenai River Brown Bears snapped a long losing streak as Trey LeBarge scored with just over three minutes remaining in regulation to tie the game before Andy Walker netted the only goal in the shootout to lift Kenai River to a victory on home ice. LeBarge’s late goal was his second of the night as he was the only Brown Bear to score in regulation. Gavin Enright made 16 saves through the first 65 minutes but denied all three shooters he faced in the skills competition. Emil Gransoe was dealt the tough loss as he made 23 saves on 25 Kenai River shots. Kaiden Scott and Quinn Green logged goals for the Pilots.
 
Austin 6 @ MN Magicians 5 - Newcomers Kyle Herbster and Jared Christy each put up four points and the Austin Bruins snapped their long funk with a win over the first place Minnesota Magicians on Friday night. Hugh Larkin potted a pair of goals while Austin veterans Andrew Willis, Lane Krenzen and Dante Sheriff all found the back of the net as well for the Bruins. Brett Miller grabbed the win in goal despite making on 21 saves. Cameron Buhl led the Magicians with three points while Andrew Kruse, Moritz Wirth, Jake Seitz, Nick Lanigan and Konner Lundeen all visited the red light district for the Magic.
 
Northeast 5 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 2 - Trevor Smith’s hat trick led the Northeast offense as the Generals defeated the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights 5-2. Brady Gaudette scored a goal and added an assist. Clark Kerner and Cam Gaudette each had two points as well. Ryan Rowland lit the lamp for his seventh goal of the season. Marko Sturma stopped 25 of 27 shots to earn the win for Northeast. Shay Donovan and Gabe Temple scored for the Knights and Zach Stejskal made 39 saves.
 
Jamestown 1 @ Johnstown 2 (SO) - Joe Kile scored the only goal of the shootout and the Tomahawks broke their small losing spell with a come-from-behind win over the Jamestown Rebels. Cameron Hebert had the only goal in regulation for the Tomahawks with Carson Briere picking the assist. Antonio Venuto netted the long goal for Jamestown in the loss. 
 
New Jersey 4 @ Maryland 2 - Matteo Menotti and Mitch Machlitt each had a goal and an assist as the New Jersey Titans doubled up the Maryland Black Bears 4-2. Gavin Gulash and Kyle Jeffers also found the back of the net for New Jersey. Brandon Perrone continued to stay hot as he made 30 saves to earn his 10th win of the year. Quinn Warmuth and Patrick Choy found the back of the net for Maryland. David Tomeo turned aside 23 shots for the Black Bears.
 
Springfield 6 @ Janesville 1 - The Jr. Blues inched closer to third place in the Midwest Division as they routed the Janesville Jets, 6-1. Nigel Nelson lit the lamp twice, Ben Schmidling, Nick Techel and Giovanni Carabelli all had a goal and an assist in the win. Max Brainin deposited his 13th goal of the season for the Jr. Blues. Jack Williams made 29 saves for Springfield while Cole Brady made 23 stops for Janesville.
 
MN Wilderness 2 @ Chippewa 3 - Grant Reichenbacher’s second period tally stood as the game-winning goal as the Steel outlasted the Minnesota Wilderness, 3-2. Connor Szmul and Jacob Dirks put the puck in the net for Chippewa as well. Josh Langford was excellent as he stopped 33 shots on goal. Ashton Altmann and Jack Johnson tallied goals for the Wilderness and Ryan Fanti made 27 saves.
 
Lone Star 1 @ Shreveport 2 - Anton Rubtsov scored the game winning goal with 2:21 remaining in regulation and the Shreveport Mudbugs grab a crucial victory over the Lone Star Brahmas. Jay Feiwell also scored for the Mudbugs, on a penalty shot in the second period. Matt Guerra scored the only goal for Lone Star, Seth Eisele made 32 saves. Maiszon Balboa got the win in goal for Shreveport as he made 19 stops.
 
Bismarck 1 @ Aberdeen 4 - The Aberdeen winning streak increases to 19 as the Wings take care of the Bismarck Bobcats 4-1. Nic Sicoly, Tim Makowski, Joe Strada and Dalton Weigel all lit the lamp for the home squad. Matt Vernon was sensational yet again as he made 31 saves and won his NAHL leading 28th win of the year. Adam Stacho registered the only Bismarck goal on the night and John Roberts denied 35 shots.
 
Brookings 2 @ Minot 6 - Justin Kelley had two goals and Wilmer Skoog had two points and the Minot Minotauros knocked off the Brookings Blizzard 6-2. Joseph Harguindeguy, Matthew Gellerman, and David Raisanen all found the back of the cage for the Tauros. Nicholas Grabko was on his game and he denied 35 shots. Brady Bjork and Gabe Wahl were the catalysts for the Blizzard offense. George McBey was kept very busy, he was peppered with 51 shots, making 45 saves.
