Chippewa defenseman Davidson makes NCAA commitment

March 21, 2019
The Chippewa Steel of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that defenseman Chase Davidson has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Davidson, a 6’5/205 lbs. native of Menomonie, Wisconsin, has played in 27 games this season with the Steel. In those games he has recorded 6 points with 1 goal and 5 assists.

“I’m very excited to be going to UW-River Falls next year. Everything I have experienced so far with the school has been great. The coaches have been outstanding, and the rink and athletic facility is second to none. I can’t wait to get started with them next season,” stated Davidson.

Davidson has played two seasons in the NAHL. During the 2017-18 season, he appeared in 50 games for the Johnstown Tomahawks, recording four points. Overall in his NAHL career, he has played in 77 games and recorded 10 points.

“The Steel Family is excited for this opportunity for Chase to continue his hockey career. Chase is a great teammate on and off the ice, we couldn’t be more happy for him and his family,” said Steel Interim Head Coach Carter Foguth.
