Magicians forward Konin makes NCAA DI commitment

May 20, 2019
The Minnesota Magicians of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce forward Chis Konin has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Army in Atlantic Hockey.

Konin, 19, just completed his first full season playing junior hockey in the NAHL for the Magicians. The 6’0/196 lbs. native of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, was 5th in team scoring during the 2018-19 regular season, recording 34 points (16 goals, 18 assists) in 57 games played.

Konin also recorded five points in seven playoff games this season.

Konin made his NAHL debut during the 2017-18 season after playing his senior season for Eden Prairie High School in Minnesota. Prior to that, he played for Kimball Union Academy.

“We are very happy for Chris and his decision to commit to West Point. Chris is an extremely skilled hockey player and the structure West Point brings will compliment his personality,” said Magicians head coach AJ Bucchino.

Konin is the 12th member of the 2018-19 Magicians roster who has earned an NCAA commitment
