Amarillo forward Bagwell makes NCAA commitment

Trey Bagwell played in the 2019 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament.

The Amarillo Bulls of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Trey Bagwell has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. He is the 14th Amarillo Bulls player on the 2018-19 roster to make his NCAA plans.
 
Bagwell, a 21-year-old native of Phoenix, Arizona, was originally acquired from the Aberdeen Wings in January of the 2017-18 season. In 85 career games with the Bulls, Bagwell had 23 goals and 27 assists for 50 points. Six of those goals were tallied on the power play.
 
Bagwell (6’1/185) had his best career season in 2018-19 when he recorded 34 points in 58 games played. He also appeared in all 13 Robertson Cup Playoff games for the Bulls. Bagwell was selected to and played in the 2019 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for the South Division team.
 
Overall in his three-year NAHL career, Bagwell appeared in 150 career games and 64 points.
 
“It’s been a dream of mine to play NCAA hockey since I was a kid,” said Bagwell. “I’m excited to attend Wisconsin-River Falls to further my academic and athletic careers.”
 
Amarillo Bulls Head Coach Rocky Russo was said the team is excited for Trey and his family. “Congratulations to Trey on his commitment to River Falls.” Russo said. “He will be a great addition to the program and to the University. He is a good teammate that will bring a lot to the locker room for the team. We wish Trey the best of luck.”
 
Trey Bagwell (Wisconsin-River Falls) joins Jake Willets (Ferris State), Louis Helsen (RPI), Logan Jenuwine (Arizona State), Gabriel Seger (Union College), Brett Abdelnour (Army-West Point), Jason Grande (Bentley), Justin Evenson (Army-West Point), Nick Anderson (Colgate), Alex Peterson (Holy Cross), Brenden Datema (Michigan Tech), Jason Brancheau (Ferris State) and John Pesek (St. Thomas) as Bulls’ players on the 2018-19 roster to make their NCAA College Commitments.
