Blizzard forward Wahl makes NCAA commitment

The St. Cloud Blizzard (formerly the Brookings Blizzard) are pleased to announce that forward and leading scorer Gabe Wahl has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
 
Wahl, 20, just completed his third season of junior hockey in the NAHL. The 6’2/190 lbs. native of Omaha, Nebraska, recorded 27 points (10 goals, 17 assists) in 51 regular season games during the 2018-19 season for the Blizzard.
 
Overall in his three-year NAHL career, Wahl recorded 52 points in 149 career games with the Blizzard, Kenai River Brown Bears and Shreveport Mudbugs.
 
Wahl also played in the NAPHL for two full seasons prior to his arrival in the NAHL. 
 
He played for the Omaha AAA 16U team during both the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons, recording 38 points in 39 career games.
 
Wahl was also selected to and played in the 2016 NAPHL 16U All-Star Game and was selected to the All-NAPHL 16U 3rd Team during the 2015-16 season.
 
He is eighth member of the 2018-19 Blizzard roster who has made an NCAA commitment.
