Saturday Scores: Sweep puts Jets back in playoff picture

Zach Krajnik had five points in a weekend home sweep of the Chippewa Steel.

MN Magicians 5 @ Janesville 7 - Nick Nardella’s huge night propelled the Jets to a 7-5 win over the Minnesota Magicians. Nardella had a pair goals and four assists to lead all skaters. Jan Lasak scored twice while Jake Dunlap, Casey Roepke and Jordon Halverson all scored for the Jets in the win. Salvatore Evola grabbed the win in goal as he made 31 saves. Brett Oberle, Jake Hale, Marko Reifenbergen, Sasha Shogren and Lucas Kanta all scored for the Magicians in a losing effort.
 
Chippewa 4 @ Kenai River 5 - Two goals from Theo Thrun helped the Kenai River Brown Bears complete the sweep of the Chippewa Steel as the Brown Bears took home a 5-4 win. Zach Krajnik contributed three assists while Dylan Hadfield, Porter Schachle and Max Helgeson all scored in the win for Kenai River. Landon Pavlisin got the win in goal as he made 26 saves. Jacob Dirks, Connor Szmul, Ian Samulak and Killian Kiecker-Olson all lit the lamp for Chippewa. Trent Burnham stopped 35 of 40 shots in the loss. 
 
Topeka 2 @ New Mexico 4 - The New Mexico Ice Wolves picked up their first sweep in franchise history as the Ice Wolves doubled up the Pilots 4-2. Spencer Rudrud, Philip Ekberg, Michael McCosh and Alex Gomez all scored for New Mexico. Henrik Laursen stopped 40 shots en route to his first win of the year. Dominic Sandoval scored the two goals for Topeka in the loss. Guy Blessing took the loss in the crease as he made 20 stops. 

MN Wilderness 3 @ Austin 4 - Ben Almquist potted a pair of goals and Josef Mysak had three assists as the Austin Bruins scored a 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Wilderness. Carson Riddle and Peter Jacobs each had a goal for the Bruins. Brett Miller turned aside 31 shots to earn the win. Nate Horn scored twice and added an assist while Tyler Watkins scored as well for the Wilderness. Jonathan Mor took the loss despite stopping 26 saves.
 
St. Cloud 1 @ Bismarck 5 - Austin Jouppi found the back of the net twice as the Bismarck Bobcats crushed the St. Cloud Blizzard 5-1. Austin Schwartz, Jacob Marti and Carl Fish all scored as well for the Bobcats. Andrew Miller needed to make just 15 saves to pick up his seventh win of the season. Nash Hatcher scored the only goal for St. Cloud while Britt League stopped 30 shots in the loss. 
 
Maine 1 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 4 - Zak Currie was all over the ice as his two goals and an assist led the Knights to a 4-1 win over the Maine Nordiques. Spencer Evans and Jordan Strand each lit the lamp as well for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Zach Stejskal earned his eighth win of the year for the Knights. Jack Strauss score the lone goal for Maine while Connor Androlewicz took the loss in goal. 
 
Maryland 3 @ Northeast 1 - Andrew Takacs stopped 18 of 19 shots to help the Maryland Black Bears defeat the Northeast Generals 3-1. Cameron Recchi, Luke Mountain and Jackson Sterrett all scored for the Black Bears in the win. Tyler Cooper scored the only goal for the Generals while Arttu Ruotsalainen made 28 saves in the loss. 
 
Jamestown 6 @ Johnstown 5 (SO) - Eric Olson’s goal in the shootout was the difference as the Jamestown Rebels outlasted the Johnstown Tomahawks by a score of 6-5. In addition to his shootout goal, Olson scored two goals in regulation while Liam Hansson and Tyler German each had a goal and an assist. Dante Fortner also chipped in a goal for the Rebels. Jon Howe made 30 saves to earn the victory. Noah Basarab netted two goals and Carson Gallagher added goal and two assists. Christian Gorscak and Sean Bauchens also scored for Johnstown. Alex Tracy and David Tomeo combined for 26 saves.
 
Minot 3 @ Aberdeen 2 - Cole O’Connell’s second period goal proved to be the game winner as the Minot Minotauros defeated the Aberdeen Wings 3-2. Hunter Bjorge and Dan Russell chipped in goals for Minot while AJ Ruskowski stopped 30 of 32 shots to earn the win. Noah Etter and Natan Vertes scored for Aberdeen in the loss. Henry Welsch denied 29 of 32 shots. 
 
Shreveport 4 @ Lone Star 1 - Richie Parent stonewalled the Lone Star Brahmas on 31 of 32 changes as the Mudbugs topped the Brahmas 4-1 on Saturday night. Dawson Sciarrino and Ryan Dickinson each had a goal and an assist for Shreveport. Alexis Girard and Vizbelis Janis also lit the lamp for the Mudbugs. Stefan Miklakos netted the only tally for Lone Star while Ludvig and Persson stopped 16 shots.
 
Springfield 5 @ Fairbanks 3 - A four goal first period was a big enough cushion as the Springfield Jr. Blues defeated the Fairbanks Ice Dogs 5-3. Jonathan Panisa potted a pair of goals while Max Osborne contributed two goals and an assist. Caden Villegas chipped in a goal and three assists for Springfield. Ryan Wilson denied 24 of 27 Fairbanks shots. Matt Koethe, Oliver Kjaera, and Adam Eisele all netted goals for Fairbanks,. Ryman and Sholl tag teamed for 17 saves.
