Friday Finals: Pilots extend winning streak to five

Luke Aquaro had three points on Friday night to help the St. Cloud Blizzard to a 5-3 road win.

Odessa 2 @ Topeka 3 - Luc Salem’s 5th goal of the year stood as the game winner as the Topeka Pilots handed the Odessa Jackalopes their ninth straight loss, winning the game 3-2. The win was the fifth in a row for Topeka. Hugh Anderson and Matthew Francois tacked on the other goals for the Pilots. Guy Blessing had another solid performance as he stopped 27 of 29 Odessa shots. Jack Rudin and Chase McCardle provided the offense for the Jackalopes. Noah Ping made 39 saves.
 
St. Cloud 5 @ MN Wilderness 3 - The St. Cloud Blizzard grabbed a hard fought win on the road as they defeated the Minnesota Wilderness 5-3. Luke Aquaro had three points, a goal and two assists for the Blizzard while Alec Johnson chipped in a goal and an assist. Alex Murray, Owen Belisle and Jack Suchy all picked up goals for St. Cloud. Sam Metcalf turned aside 37 shots to earn the win in goal. Blake Holmes, Mitch Allard and Jacob Herter were the goal scorers for Minnesota. Kaleb Johnson and Jonathan Mor teamed up for 19 saves.
 
Kenai River 5 @ Springfield 0 - Landon Pavlisin was a wall on Friday night as the Kenai River Brown Bears blanked the Springfield Jr. Blues 5-0. Peter Morgan led the offensive attack with a pair of goals. Skylar Gutierrez had a goal and an assist while Porter Schachle and Zach Krajnik also lit the lamp. Alex Proctor stopped 30 shots in the loss for Springfield. 
 
Lone Star 2 @ Shreveport 5 - Five different Mudbugs found the back of the net as they rolled to a 5-2 win over the Lone Star Brahmas. Anton Rubtsov, Dawson Sciarrino, Jack Smiley, Garrett Steele and Carson Nichols all scored for Shreveport in the victory. Maiszon Balboa needed to make just 17 stops to win his ninth game of the year. Joey Baez and Evan Googins tallied goals for Lone Star. Ludvig Persson and Cayden Bailey teamed up to make 33 stops in the loss.
 
Bismarck 1 @ Aberdeen 2 (SO) - Riley Murphy scored the only goal in the shootout and it gave the Aberdeen Wings a 2-1 win over the Bismarck Bobcats. The win extended the Wings’ points streak to 10 games. Jakob Breault tallied the only goal in regulation for Aberdeen while George Grannis had the lone goal for Bismarck. Both goaltenders played well as Henry Welsch stopped 33 of 34 for Aberdeen and Ryan Ullan made 29 saves for the Bobcats.
 
Maryland 3 @ Maine 1 - Andrew Takacs was nearly perfect as the Maryland goaltender made 30 saves on 31 shots as the Black Bears topped the Maine Nordiques 3-1. Reid Leibold, Jackson Sterrett and Aden Bruich were the goals scorers for Maryland. Trent Grimshaw had the only tally for the Maine Nordiques. Marco Duronio took the loss in net as he made 23 saves.
 
Jamestown 3 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 4 - Anthony Mastromonica netted a pair of goals as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights beat the Jamestown Rebels 4-3. Lincoln Hatten and Artur Turansky each tallied a goal as well in the win. Zach Stejskal stopped 22 shots en route to picking up his 11th win of the year. Valerii Rykov, Liam Hansson, and Eric Olson all found the scoresheet for the Rebels. Noah West made 25 saves for Jamestown in the loss.
 
Johnstown 2 @ New Jersey 6 - Chris Garbe led the New Jersey Titans to a 6-2 win over the Johnstown Tomahawks as he registered two goals and an assist. Mitch Machlitt and Kyle Jeffers each picked up a goal and an assist for New Jersey. Josef Glamos and Matthew Iasenza took a trip to red light district as well in the win. Patrick Pugliese improved to 14-2-1 as he made 30 saves. Spencer DenBeste and Carson Grainer were the only goal scorers for the Tomahawks. David Tomeo was dealt the loss as he made 25 saves.
 
New Mexico 0 @ Amarillo 1 - Charlie Glockner was perfect on Friday night as he denied all 30 New Mexico Ice Wolves shots as the Amarillo Bulls took home a 1-0 victory. Noah Carlin scored the only goal of the game, it came with just 32 seconds remaining in the second period. Henrik Laursen was sensational in his own right as he stopped 42 of 43 shots.
 
Minot 5 @ Austin 7 - Connor Mylymok potted a pair of goals for the Austin Bruins as they won a wild contest against the Minot Minotauros 7-5. Ben Almquist, Josef Mysak, and Kevin Gabor all tallied a goal and an assist for Austin. Adam Szubert and Carson Riddle also scored for the Bruins. Brett Mille stopped 22 shots to pick up his 8th win of the year. Dan Russell and Andranik Armstrong-Kingkade each scored twice while Kevin Ness tacked on the other goal for Minot. AJ Ruskowski and Ben Garrity combined to stop 17 shots.
 
Fairbanks 3 @ Janesville 1 - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs scored three times in the final four minutes to steal a win against the Janesville Jets by a score of 3-1. Adam Eisele tied the game at one with a goal coming at the 16:51 mark of the third period. Tyler Deweese scored just 19 seconds later to give Fairbanks its first lead of the game before Luke Ciolli added an empty netter in the closing seconds. Austin Ryman stopped 22 of 23 shots for Fairbanks. Nick Nardella scored the lone goal for the Jets while Riley Sims made 28 stops.
 
Chippewa 2 @ MN Magicians 3 - Samuel Vyletelka turned aside 23 of 25 Chippewa shots to lead the Minnesota Magicians to a 3-2 win over the Steel. Robert Christy had a goal and an assist. Nick Lanigan and Jimmy Doyle also found the back of the net for Minnesota. Ryan Kerchoff netted both goals for the Steel and Grant Boldt stopped 25 shots in the loss.
