December 30, 2019
The Aberdeen Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Jakob Breault has committed to play NCAA Division 1 hockey for the University of Alaska-Fairbanks in the WCHA.
Breault, 20, joins Wings teammates Riley Murphy and Antonio DiPaolo, who also committed to Alaska-Fairbanks in the past few days. The 5’11/180 lbs native of Acton Vale, Quebec, came to the Aberdeen Wings from the Notre Dame Hounds of the SJHL.
Breault was a first round pick by the Wings in the 2019 NAHL Draft. So far during the 2019-20 season, Breault leads the Wings in scoring, playing in 30 games and recording 11 goals and 22 assists for 33 points with a +11 rating.
“Jakob possesses high hockey intelligence that allows him to not only play big minutes, but also a large roll for the Wings. He has been a huge piece of our first half success and will be a great addition at Alaska-Fairbanks,” said Wings Head Coach Scott Langer.
“I am honored to announce my commitment to play Division 1 hockey at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. I would like to thank all my teammates, my coaches, friends, family, billets and the wings family who helped me through the process. I look forward to being a Nanook,” said Breault.
