Topeka defenseman Gonzalez makes NCAA commitment

April 20, 2020
The Topeka Pilots of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Jordan Gonzalez has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Elmira College.

Gonzalez, 20, just completed his second and final season playing in the NAHL. The 6’3/201 lbs. native of Hamburg, New York, appeared in 41 games during the 2019-20 season for the Pilots and recorded seven points (3 goals, 4 assists).

“We are extremely excited for Jordan to continue his education and play hockey at Elmira College. After missing significant time early in the season due to injury, Jordan came back and didn’t miss a step. He was a huge presence in the locker room and on the bench this past season. There is no doubt he will continue to demonstrate his strong leadership and high level of character at Elmira.

Gonzalez began his NAHL career with the Chippewa Steel during the 2018-19 season and was later traded to the Pilots that season. Overall in 89 career NAHL games, Gonzalez has recorded 14 points.

“Excited to announce my commitment to Elmira College to continue my academic and athletic career. Thank you to everyone that has helped me along the way,” stated Gonzalez on Twitter.
