Generals and Nordiques win on Monday

Nordiques goalie Avery Sturtz made 31 saves in a 4-1 win on Monday.

Northeast 2 @ Danbury 1 (OT) – Generals goalie Hugo Haas made 40 saves to help his club pick up a 2-1 overtime win over the Jr. Hat Tricks. The Generals took a 1-0 lead with a goal late in the 1st period from Jonathan Young. The Jr. Hat Tricks managed to tie the game late in the 2nd period as recently acquired Robert Hyde scored his first goal in the Danbury uniform, knotting the game at 1-1. In the overtime, Ricky Boysen scored the game-winner which was his fifth goal of the season. Danbury goalie Josh Seeley made 20 saves in the overtime loss.

Maine 4 @ Maryland 1 – Nordiques goalie Avery Sturtz made 31 saves to lead the visiting Nordiques to a 4-1 win in Maryland. Maine got on the board first in the 1st period as defenseman Luke Antonacci netted his 3rd goal of the season. The lead would increase to 3-0 in the 2nd period as Aidan Connolly and Tyler Gaulin would each score. Maine made it  a 4-0 game midway through the 3rd period as Patrick Schmiedlin scored his 2nd goal of the season. With just over two minutes remaining in regulation, the Black Bears spoiled Sturtz’s shutout bid as Aden Bruich scored his 3rd goal of the season. Black Bears goalie Hannes Kollen made 34 saves in the loss.
