The Chippewa Steel of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Ian Famulak has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for St. Norbert College.

The 6’2/185 lbs. native of Grand Rapids, MI played in 48 games for the Steel during the 2020-21 season, recording 5 goals and 6 assists for 11 points.

Famulak, 21, played in 154 career NAHL regular season games for Chippewa since the 2018-19 season. In three seasons he has recorded 12 goals and dished out 17 assists for 29 points.

“Ian has earned his opportunity to play hockey at St. Norbert College. After three seasons in Chippewa Falls, Ian has definitely put in his time and work. He was a great leader for us this year and I expect him to have a lot of success at St. Norbert College,” stated Steel Head Coach & General Manager Mike Janda.

Prior to playing in the NAHL, Famulak played high school hockey in Michigan for Forest Hills N-E High.
