Austin forward Trombley makes NCAA commitment
The Austin Bruins of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that Top Prospects forward Alex Trombley has announced his commitment to continue his education and to play NCAA Division III hockey at Aurora University.
"I am happy to continue my athletic career and begin my academic career at Aurora University," Trombley said. "Thank you to my family for supporting and helping me reach this point."
Trombley, a 6’0/174 lbs. native of Howell, Michigan, appeared in 97 career NAHL regular season games and played 70 of those while wearing a Bruins sweater.
During the 2021-22 season, Trombley posted 16 points in 37 games played for the Bruins
For his NAHL career, Trombley, 21, had a stat line of 16 goals and 26 assists for 42 points and was an impact player on the ice. Trombley also appeared in 12 games while playing in the USHL.
He was also selected to and played in the 2021 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for the Central Division team.
"We really enjoyed coaching Alex the last two seasons," stated Head Coach Steve Howard. "He has grown into a solid 200-foot player that we relied on heavily down the stretch. I know he is going to do great things at Aurora and Coach Bloomingburg is getting a great hockey player and an even better person!"
Aurora University is a private university located in Aurora, Illinois. Aurora competes at the NCAA Division III level and is a member of the NCHA (Northern Collegiate Hockey Association) and plays out of the Fox Valley Ice Arena.
