Shreveport goalie Bobak makes NCAA commitment

June 1, 2022

The Shreveport Mudbugs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that goaltender Devon Bobak has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Trinity College.

Bobak, 20, just completed his final season of junior hockey in the NAHL with the Mudbugs. The 6’4/194 lbs. native of Northwood, OH, was one of the top goalies in the NAHL this season.

In 42 games played, Bobak posted a 27-11-4 record for the Mudbugs. His 2.09 goals against average ranked 3rd in the NAHL this past season and his .921 save percentage tied for 7th.

“Mudbugs hockey is very proud of Devon and all his accomplishments this year. Not much better than topping it off with a great opportunity at a great school like Trinity College.  Devon had a lot of options and in his typical mature - like manner Devon took his time to evaluate all his options before making his decision.  Mudbugs hockey and the community of Shreveport will miss Devon but we are extremely excited to see how he impacts Trinity College,” said Mudbugs head coach Jason Campbell.

Bobak was named the NAHL’s Goaltender of the Month for January 2022 and was named the South Division Star of the Week four times during the 2021-22 regular season.

Bobak is also an alum of the NA3HL, having previously played for the Toledo Cherokee during the 2017-18 season.
