Kenai River defenseman Monson makes NCAA commitment

The Kenai River Brown Bears of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Ben Monson has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Monson, 20, just completed his first and only season playing in the NAHL with Kenai River. The 6’1/195 lbs. native of Savage, MN, appeared in 57 games during the 2022-23 regular season and recorded 22 points (6 goals, 16 assists), which led all Brown Bears defensemen.

Monson was also fourth on the roster with a +7 rating during the season.

Prior to playing in the NAHL, Monson played four seasons of high school hockey in Minnesota for Lakeville North High.
