Chill post big 9-3 win over Magicians on Thursday

Minnesota Magicians 3 @ Coulee Region Chill 9 – Several Coulee Region Chill players had big night’s including four players with three-point games and Sean Kalbak with a four-point night as the Chill scored a season-high nine goals in a home win over the visiting Magicians.

The scoring started quickly in the 1st period as Blake Kelley and Kalbak scored to give the Chill a 2-1 lead seven minutes into the game. Matt Colford had the 1st period goal for Minnesota.

Coulee Region broke open the game in the 2nd period as they scored three times including markers from Mac Jansen, Griff Jeszka and Cam Bleck. Magicians goaltender Atte Tolvanen exited after the fourth goal.

It didn’t get any better for the Magicians in the 3rd period as the Chill scored four more goals in the first nine minutes of the period to open up the lead to 9-1.  Gordon Wells had two of the goals in the 3rd period and Richard Zehnal and Brogan Rafferty also scored.  Will Johnson and Travis Koepke added late 3rd period goals for the Magicians to make the final 9-3.

Adam Carlson made 39 saves in the win. Tolvanen took the loss making 14 saves. Magicians back-up Bryan Nies made seven saves on 12 shots.
