Saturday Scores: Bulls one of eight teams to sweep this weekend

Ben Almquist had a big weekend to lead the Austin Bruins to a sweep of the Minnesota Magicians.

Odessa 1 @ Amarillo 3 - It was all Jordan Venegoni on Saturday night as the Amarillo Bulls forward netted all three of his teams goals en route to a 3-1 decision over Odessa. Nick Dineen, Devan Tongue, Niclas Puikkonen and Lauri Sertti all had assists for Amarillo. Max Gutjahr was nearly perfect as he stopped 15 of 16 for the Bulls. 
 
Austin 5 @ MN Magicians 2 - Ben Almquist notched a pair of goals to lead the Austin Bruins to a 5-2 win over the Minnesota Magicians. Conner Tilmon and Josef Mysak each had a goal and an assist. Dante Sheriff also chipped in with a goal. Zach Hansen stopped 28 shots to improve to 3-0 on the season. T.J. Sagissor netted both Minnesota goals while Wes Mankowski turned aside 42 shots in the loss. 
 
Chippewa 1 @ Aberdeen 4 - The Aberdeen Wings won their fourth straight game as they knocked off the Chippewa Steel 4-1. Huston Karpman had a goal and an assist while Jake Beaune, Antonio DiPaolo and Connor Beatty found the back of the net as well. Jake Sibell only needed 20 saves to win his fifth game of the year. Jaden Grant scored Chippewa’s only goal of the game while Trent Burnham stopped 36 shots. 
 
Lone Star 4 @ New Mexico 0 - Cayden Bailey stopped all 14 shots he faced as the Lone Star Brahmas finished off a three game sweep of the New Mexico Ice Wolves. Eric Huss got the scoring started in the first. Joey Baez and Evan Googins added insurance in the second period. Michal Stinil added the dagger in the third period as the Brahmas won 4-0 over New Mexico. Josh Graziano took the loss in net, he made 22 saves.
 
Fairbanks 3 @ Kenai River 4 (SO) - Max Helgeson scored the only goal of the shootout to propel the Kenai River Brown Bears to their 10th straight win, a 4-3 decision over the Fairbanks Ice Dogs. Helgeson netted a couple of goals in regulation while Peter Morgan also found the back of the net in the win. Landon Pavlisin stopped 47 shots and all three Fairbanks skaters in the shootout. Laker Aldridge led the Ice Dogs with two goals and an assist. Adam Eisele also knocked in a goal for Fairbanks while Mattias Sholl made 40 saves in the loss. 
 
Maine 2 @ New Jersey 5 - Matt Cameron led all skaters with three points as the New Jersey Titans completed the sweep of the Maine Nordiques, winning on Saturday night by a score of 5-2. Kyle Jeffers, Josef Glamos, Chris Garbe and Tyler Nasca all found the back of the net for the Titans. Patrick Pugliese made 38 saves to win his 11th game of the season. Timmy Kent and Ethan Prout each had a goal and an assist for Maine in the loss.
 
Shreveport 4 @ Corpus Christi 1 - Richie Parent made 23 saves as the Shreveport Mudbugs took down the Corpus Christi IceRays by a score of 4-1. Carson Nichols and Ryan Waltman each tallied a goal and an assist while Giovanni Procopio and Billy Feczko each lit the lamp as well. Erik Bargholtz provided the offense for the second straight night and Cal Sandquist made 23 saves in a losing effort.
 
Maryland 4 @ Johnstown 5 (OT) - After an overtime win on Friday night, it was Christian Gorscak’s turn to be the hero as the Tomahawks forward scored just 40 seconds into overtime to give Johnstown another 5-4 win over Maryland. Max Kouznetsov, Quinn Warmuth, Spencer DenBeste and Pavel Kharin all netted goals for the Tomahawks while David Tomeo made 20 saves to earn the win in goal. Wilmer Skoog potted two goals and an assist for the Black Bears while Jude Kurtas and Jackson Sterrett also scored. Hampus Rydqvist led Maryland with four assists and Andrew Takacs made 22 saves.
 
Jamestown 3 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 2 (OT) - Renars Karkls scored with 39 seconds remaining in overtime as the Jamestown Rebels notched a 3-2 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights. Zach Brydges and Nicholas Babbie scored in regulation for the Rebels while Noah West earned the win in goal as he made 28 saves. Egor Postnov scored in the final minutes of the third to force overtime. Zak Currie potted his 10th of the year for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Zach Stejskal was dealt the loss as he made 18 saves.
 
Janesville 1 @ Springfield 6 - The Springfield Jr. Blues brought the Janesville Jets winning streak to a halt as they won 6-1 on Saturday. Noah Marino, Hunter Longhi, Caden Villegas, Jonathan Panisa, Carson Jones and Giovanni Carabelli all had a goal and an assist for the Jr. Blues. Alex Proctor stopped 25 of 26 shots to pick up the win in net. Issac Novak provided the lone goal for Janesville. Max Miller made 21 saves in the loss.
 
Bismarck 1 @ St. Cloud 2 - Two third period goals from Bud Winter and Brock Draeger lifted the St. Cloud Blizzard to a 2-1 win over the Bismarck Bobcats. Lars Rödne scored the only goal for the Bobcats, it came on the power play as Daniel Chladek and Sam Martel provided the assists. Sam Metcalf stopped 34 shots as he won his first game of the season. Ryan Ullan made 31 saves for Bismarck in the loss.
