The Chippewa Steel of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Alec Schwab has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Aurora University.
Schwab, 20, just completed his final season of junior hockey in the NAHL with the Steel. The 6’4/210 lbs. native of Lake Villa, Illinois, recorded seven points (2 goals, 5 assists) in 40 games this season with the Steel.
Schwab made his NAHL debut during the 2016-17 season with the Springfield Jr. Blues, appearing in two games that season.
“Alec is a hardworking young man that is a great teammate on and off the ice. We're excited for him to begin the next chapter of his career at Aurora and wish him the best of luck moving forward,” said Steel head coach Carter Foguth.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Schwab played his youth hockey with the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals.
