Odessa forward German makes NCAA commitment

The Odessa Jackalopes of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that Top Prospects forward Tyler German has committed to play NCAA Division III college hockey for the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
A 6’2/180 lbs. native of Canton, Michigan, German came to the Jackalopes looking to make a name for himself. He did that and more as he blossomed into one of the more reliable players for the Jackalopes this past season, especially on the penalty kill. German finished the season with 21 points, tallying seven goals and 14 assists in 54 games played.
German was also selected to and played in the 2021 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for the South Division team where he had one point in two games played.
“Tyler is a heart and soul type player with an outstanding work ethic,” said Jackalopes coach Jason Fortier. “Tyler was loved by his teammates and was voted as Co-MVP. His effort on a nightly basis and potential to be a top tier college player is there.”
The 2020-21 season was German’s second in the NAHL. He spent the 2019-20 season with the Jamestown Rebels. He played in 96 career NAHL games in two seasons.
The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is located in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. The Pointers play at the Division III level and are a part of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. They are six-time national champions with their most recent titles coming in 2016 and 2019.
German will join former Jackalopes Fletcher Anderson and Adam Kolcon with the Pointers this coming season.
