Game On! 2022-23 NAHL regular season gets underway

Game On! The North American Hockey League (NAHL) begins its 48th season with the opening weekend of the 2022-23 regular season as eight games are on top on Friday and Saturday in the East and Midwest Divisions.
The 19th annual NAHL Showcase is on the horizon next week as all 29 teams will make their way to the Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota, for The Greatest Show on Ice. The event takes place from September 14-17, 2022, as the rest of the NAHL teams begin their 2022-23 regular season.
One of the things the NAHL does better than any other junior league is seeing their players earn an NCAA opportunity while playing and being showcased in the NAHL. During the 2021-22 season 365 NAHL players made NCAA commitments, with 258 of those (70%) being NCAA Division I commitments.
The East Division has a full slate of games with six of the seven teams in action. New Jersey opens their Robertson Cup title defense with two games in Maryland against the Black Bears. The Matt Voity era begins in Danbury as the Jr. Hat Tricks host the Johnstown Tomahawks for a pair of games. In Maine, the Nordiques will host the Northeast Generals for two games.
In the Midwest Division, the Fairbanks Ice Dogs get their season underway as they look for redemption for last year’s opening round playoff loss when they travel to Cloquet, Minnesota to take on the Wilderness.
The Central and South Divisions will begin their regular season at the NAHL Showcase.
