November 5, 2015

Austin Bruins 2 @ Minnesota Magicians 3 – In the lone NAHL game on Thursday night, the Minnesota Magicians posted their 5th win of the season as they edged the Austin Bruins, 3-2 in a home game at Richfield Ice Arena.
Magicians goalie Will Ulrich made 30 saves in the win and three different players scored for Minnesota.
It was an active 1st period with four of the game’s five goals being scored in the opening frame. The Bruins struck first on the power play as Justin Misiak lit the lamp. The Magicians responded five minutes later with three goals in a seven minute span. Travis Brown scored on the power play to make it 1-1. Pierce Crawford added Minnesota’s second goal to make it 2-1 and less than two minutes later Alex Lambacher scored what would be the eventual game-winning goal.
That ended the night for Bruins starting goal Austin Smith, who made 11 saves and was pulled after one period. Kris Carlson came in relief and stopped all 14 shots that came his way in the final two periods.
The Bruins made it 3-2 late in the 2nd period on a penalty shot goal from Travis Kothenbeutel, but it would be as close as they would get thanks to the solid goaltending of Ulrich.
The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for the Bruins.
