Former Brown Bears captain Gessert makes NCAA DI commitment

Forward Jack Gessert, who spent the last three seasons playing in the NAHL for the Kenai River Brown Bears, has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Brown University in the ECAC.
Gessert, 21, began playing in the NAHL for Kenai River during the 2013-14. Over the better half of the next three seasons, Gessert (6’2/205) become one of the more prolific scorers for the Brown Bears. The native of Novi, Michigan, played 30 games in the NAHL this season, before being traded to the USHL’s Chicago Steel on December 29th. At the time of his trade, he was the Brown Bears leading scorer and captain.
Gessert played in 141 career regular season games in the NAHL from the 2013-14 season to the 2015-16 season and totaled 98 points during that time.
He was also selected to and played in the 2015 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he had a goal in two games playing for Team Midwest.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Gessert played for the Compuware 18U and 16U teams in the HPHL. In 10 games with the Steel since his trade from Kenai River, Gessert has four points.
