IceRays part ways with head coach Jon Becanic

The Corpus Christi IceRays of the NAHL, have announced that general manager Pat Dunn has stated that the organization will not renew the contract of head coach John Becanic for the 2016-17 season.
Becanic, 50, became the third head coach in junior franchise history when he was hired on June 27, 2013. In three seasons, he led the team to a 75-84-21 regular season record including the team’s second trip to the Robertson Cup Playoffs during the 2014-15 campaign, falling in back-to-back games to the Wenatchee Wild in the South Division Quarterfinals. Last season, the IceRays placed fifth in the South Division under Becanic with a 25-29-6 record.
