NAHL Weekend Preview

One of the busiest weekends of the year greets NAHL teams during the weekend before Thanksgiving with 23 games on the slate.

Many teams will put extensive winning streaks on the line this weekend as the action heats up across the NAHL.

In the Central Division, the 1st place Minot Minotauros face two tough road tests in Bismarck on Friday and Aberdeen on Saturday. Brookings Blizzard, owners of a four-game winning streak, will also face Bismarck and Aberdeen on the weekend as they travel to the Wings on Friday night, while hosting the Bobcats on Saturday.

In the East Division, winning streaks collide as 2nd place New Jersey visits 1st place Aston for three games this weekend, with each team riding four-game winning streaks. At 18-3-0, the Rebels own the NAHL’s best record. In other East action, Johnstown is in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for two games. The Northeast Generals are idle this weekend.

In the Midwest Division, the 1st place Janesville Jets are riding a five-game winning streak heading into their weekend series in Fairbanks against an Ice Dogs team that has lost six straight. The Springfield Jr. Blues have won three in a row and are in Kenai River for a pair of games.

In the South Division, Wichita Falls tries to improve on their five-game winning streak with two more home games against Topeka. The Wildcats beat the RoadRunners, 2-1 on Thursday night. The 1st place Lone Star Brahmas are in Corpus Christi for two games against the Ice Rays. The other South Division series has the Amarillo Bulls hosting the Shreveport Mudbugs with the Bulls still looking for their first home win of the season. Odessa is idle this weekend.

In out of division action, the Minnesota Magicians, fresh off their 3-2 overtime win on Thursday against the Minnesota Wilderness, will play a home-and-home series against the Austin Bruins. The Wilderness will go outside of the division with two games in Coulee Region.
