Kenai River forward Marzec makes NCAA commitment

The Kenai River Brown Bears, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are proud to announce that forward Jonathan Marzec has committed to play NCAA Division III hocket at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
Marzec, 20, is a native of Spokane, Washington and is in his first season with the Brown Bears.
Marzec (5’7/161) leads the Brown Bears in scoring this season with 37 points (12 goals, 25 assists) in 52 games played.
Prior to this season, Marzec played junior hockey in Canada. He also is an alumni of the NAPHL, having played during the 2011-12 season with the Pikes Peak Miners 16U team.
“I am very thankful for the opportunity the Kenai River Brown Bears have provided me with this season. I am very appreciative of Coach Worlton, Coach Dallmann and Coach McGlasson. They have prepared me for playing at the next level. I can’t thank Terry Watkins and his staff enough for this opportunity and am very excited for my next four years at UW-Stout,” said Marzec.
“Our Director of Scouting, Rich Michalowski, was very high on Jonanthan, so after getting him in the NAHL Draft our entire staff was excited to see what he could do once the season started,” said Brown Bears Head Coach Jeff Worlton. “Jonathan is very offensive minded and see’s the ice very well. With Jon’s offensive mind, his ability to be coached and his blue collar style, he will be successful at the college level.”
