The Odessa Jackalopes, proud member of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that goaltender Brett Epp has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Nichols College.
Epp, 20, completed his final season of junior hockey playing in the NAHL with the Jackalopes in 2017-18. The 6’1/185 lbs. native of Edmonton, Alberta, posted a 14-13-3 record during the regular season with a 2.57 goals against average and a .923 save percentage, which ranked 11th among NAHL goalies in 2017-18.
Epp was also selected to and played in the 2018 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for the South Division Team. He appeared in both games at the event and allowed just a single goal, facing 23 shots in the two outings.
“Brett is a great goaltender and had a great personality that was great for our lockerroom. He always battled hard and was loved by his teammates. We are looking forward to see how he helps lead and contribute at Nichols,” said Odessa head coach Greg Gatto.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Epp spent time playing junior hockey in Canada in both the MJHL and AJHL.
