Friday Finals: Central race tightens thanks to Minotauros win

Carson Briere scored two, 3rd period goals to lead the Tomahawks to their 7th straight win and a weekend road sweep in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
Austin 3 @ Minot 4 - A big central division battle went the way of the Minotauros on Friday night as Minot defeated Austin 4-3. Third period goals from Didrik Henbrant and Kyle Oleksiuk gave the Minotauros enough cushion to outlast the Austin Bruins. Sam Skinner and David Raisenen also found the back of the net for Minot. Nicholas Grabko got the win in between the pipes as he made 29 saves. Dante Sheriff had a goal and an assist for the Bruins. Levi Stauber and Andrew Willis lit the lamp as well. Brett Miller took the loss in goal, he made 21 saves.
Johnstown 5 @ Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 4 - Three goals in the third period lifted the Johnstown Tomahawks to a 5-4 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights. Carson Briere scored twice in the final frame and had an assist as well to lead the Johnstown offense. Samuel Solensky tacked on a goal and an assist for the Tomahawks while Roman Kraemer and Cameron Hebert also lit the lamp. Cooper Lukenda stopped 35 shots en route to his fourth win of the year. Adrian Danchenko, Beck Moore, Gabe Temple and Jacob Badal scored for the Knights. Samuel Vyletelka made 44 saves in a losing effort.
Jamestown 4 @ Maryland 1 - Four different Rebels found the back of the net as Jamestown topped Maryland 4-1. Jake Felker had a goal and an assist to lead Jamestown. Sam Anzai, Antonio Venuto and Alex Frye also found twine for the Rebels. Ryan Keane earned his sixth win of the season as he made 23 stops. Jospeh Mancuso scored the only goal for the Black Bears. David Tomeo took the loss in goal as made 31 saves.
Aberdeen 6 @ Brookings 1 - The Wings offense was firing on all cylinders as they demolished the Brookings Blizzard 6-1. Shawn Kennedy and Stepan Porkorny each lit the lamp twice in the win. John Sladic and Nic Sicoly also scored for Aberdeen. Matt Vernon had a easy night in goal as he made 20 saves on 21 shots. Shane Hathaway got the only goal for Brookings. George McBey made 20 saves while Jack Caruso stopped eight shots.
Lone Star 1 @ Topeka 2 (OT) - Michael Muschitiello was the hero for the Topeka Pilots as they defeated the Lone Star Brahmas 2-1 in overtime. Connor Zilisch got the Pilots only goal in regulation. Emil Gransoe turned aside 32 shots to pick up the win. Andrew DeCarlo got the lone goal for Lone Star. Harrison Feeney was stuck with the loss despite making 31 saves.
Shreveport 2 @ Amarillo 3 - David Ojamae’s third period goal was the difference as the Amarillo Bulls took down the Shreveport Mudbugs 3-2. Alex Peterson had a pair of goals for the home squad and Jason Grande made 24 saves to earn the victory. Jay Feiwell and Jack Jaunich scored for the Mudbugs. Maiszon Balboa took the loss as he made 43 saves on the night.
Janesville 4 @ Chippewa 3 - The Janesville Jets won the latest game in the battle of Wisconsin as they outlasted the Steel 4-3. Nicholas Nardella was the star of the night as he had two goals and an aissist. Matt Hanewall also picked up a a pair of goals for the Jets. Cole Brady denied 36 shots to earn his seventh win of the season. Austin Mikesch, Jacob Dirks, and Matt Clark all scored for the Steell. Jackson Bernard and Josh Langford combined 29 saves.
MN Wilderness 3 @ Bismarck 4 - Tim Piechowski led all Bismarck players with two points as his two goals propelled the Bobcats to a 4-3 victory. Mitchell Walinski and Jacob Marti each found the back of the net in the win. John Roberts continued his hot start as he made 18 saves and got his eighth win of the year. Ondrej Trejbal, Nick Portz and Tyler Watkins scored for the Wilderness in the loss. Ryan Fanti made 29 saves for Minnesota.
MN Magicians 4 @ Fairbanks 2 - The Magicians stayed red hot as they rolled to a 4-2 win over the Fairbanks Ice Dogs. Carter Breitenfeldt and Jackson Jutting each had a goal and an assist in the victory. Camreon Buhl and Ricky Lyle Jr each netted goals for the Magicians. Ethan Haider stopped 23 saves to pick up the win. Jax Murray and Matt Koethe got the only goals for Fairbanks. Nate Reid took the loss as he made 19 saves.
Springfield 1 @ Kenai River 2 - Michael Spethmann’s tally proved to be the game winner as the Brown Bears got past the Springfield Jr. Blues 2-1. Alex Klekotka had the only goal in regulation for Kenai River while Spencer DenBeste provided all the offense for Springfield. Gavin Enright earned the victory by allowing just one goal on 20 shots. Caleb Hannon was dealt the loss for Springfield, he made 23 saves.
