November 30, 2018

The Shreveport Mudbugs, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that defenseman CJ McGee has committed to play NCAA Division I Hockey for Quinnipiac University in the ECAC.
McGee,19, is currently in his first season playing in the NAHL for the Mudbugs. The 6’0/180 lbs. native of Pearl River, New York, is currently tied for the team scoring lead with 17 points (5 goals, 12 assists) in 22 games played.
His 17 points currently ranks tied for 5th among all NAHL defensemen so far this season.
“I’m proud and honored to announce my commitment to play college hockey at Quinnipiac University. Thank you to all my teammates, coaches and especially my family who have supported me along the way. #gobobcats,” said McGee via Twitter.
“The Mudbugs family is excited for this great opportunity that CJ has earned. He’s come in as a first year guy and taken on many roles and defensive partners without batting an eye. His commitment to our team, his personal development, and his education has been next to none during this process. It’s a well-deserved opportunity,” said Mudbugs head coach Jason Campbell.
McGee was a tender of the Mudbugs last season after playing for the North Jersey Avalanche 18U team, where he recorded 30 points in 46 games played last season.
He also has previously played for Don Bosco Prep.
