The Minnesota Magicians of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Andrew Kruse has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the Air Force Academy in Atlantic Hockey.
Kruse, 20, is currently in his second season playing in the NAHL for the Magicians. The 5’11/185 lbs. native of Delano, Minnesota, is currently leading all Magicians defensemen in scoring this season with 24 points (5 goals, 19 assists) in 35 games played. His 24 points also ranks 8th among all NAHL defensemen.
Kruse played in the NAHL last season for the Magicians, totaling 11 points in 53 games played. Overall in his two-year NAHL career, he has recorded 35 points in 88 career regular season games.
“Our organization couldn’t be happier and proud of Andrew. He is a true ambassador and leader for our team in many ways. His core values will fit in very well at Air Force,” said Magicians head coach AJ Bucchino.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Kruse played three years of varsity hockey in Minnesota for Delano High School.
He is the ninth player on the 2018-19 Magicians roster who has made an NCAA Division I commitment.
