Springfield forward Techel makes NCAA commitment

The Springfield Jr. Blues, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Nick Techel has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

 

Techel, 20, played the 2018-19 season in the NAHL for the Jr. Blues. In 58 games, the 5’8/176 lbs. native of Wausau, Wisconsin put up 15 goals and 23 assists for 38 points.

 

“Eau Claire is adding a player that works hard and can contribute offensively,” coach Tyler Rennette said. “We wish the best of luck to Nick next season.”

 

UW-Eau Claire Blugolds are members of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and are based out of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The Blugolds won the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2013, have won two WIAC Championships, and had 3 NAHL alumni on their 2018-19 roster.
