Kenai River forward Spethmann makes NCAA commitment

The Kenai River Brown Bears of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that Top Prospects forward Michael Spethmann has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for St. Norbert College.
Spethmann, 20, just finished his second and final season of playing junior hockey in the NAHL. The 6’3/190 lbs. native of St. Cloud, Minnesota, was 3rd in scoring for the Brown Bears during the 2018-19 season with 36 points, which included a team-leading 19 goals and 17 assists.
Spethmann was also selected to and played in the 2019 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for the Midwest Division team.
Spethmann appeared in all 60 NAHL regular season games in both of his seasons in the league. In 120 total games, he recorded 61 points (31 goals, 30 assists).
Prior to playing in the NAHL for the Brown Bears, Spethmann spent three years playing varsity high school hockey in the state of Minnesota for St. Cloud Cathedral, where he had 92 points in 72 career games.
He is the fourth player from the Brown Bears 2018-19 roster who has made an NCAA commitment.
