The Topeka Pilots of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Shane Hathaway has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Lake Forest College in the NCHA.
Hathaway, 20, is in his final season of playing junior hockey in the NAHL. The 6’0/190 lbs. native of Chicago, Illinois, has appeared in 18 games with the Pilots this season and recorded seven points (2 goals, 5 assists).
In two seasons, with the Pilots and also the Brookings Blizzard, Hathway has appeared in 65 career NAHL games and recorded 17 points.
“We are extremely excited for Shane to continue his education and play hockey at Lake Forest College. After missing significant time early in the season due to injury, Shane came back and didn’t miss a step. Shane will play a vital role for the Pilots down the stretch. We look forward to preparing him for his next step in his career,” said Pilots head coach Simon Watson.
He is the sixth player from the Topeka Pilots roster who has committed to play NCAA hockey during the 2019-20 season.
